I'm seriously disturbed by my sister right now

My sister has been having an ongoing problem with her next door neighbor’s dog barking. He even barks every once in a while in the middle of the night and disturbs her sleep. If my sister doesn’t get perfect sleep she gets mean and threatens to become psychotic and start shooting people.

I feel bad for my sister, I really do, but I’ve been going so long with so little sleep, that it’s difficult for me to hear her talking about choosing to become psychotic, a real illness which I struggle with, over a night of missed sleep, which I have a long history of and have just learned there’s a medical reason for.

Over the past few months, anytime the dog barks my sister flies off in a rage and starts talking about finding someone to kill the dog. I figure she’s venting. Well yesterday I made a joke about giving the dog a candy bar to kill him off and my sister took it seriously and now expects me to figure out how much it would take, and when I could do it that I wouldn’t be caught.

I’m sorry, but my solution would be to go over, knock on the door and tell the dog owner to take care of her animal first and my extreme behavior would be to poke her in the eye, not kill the poor neglected dog.

I hope to God my sister was just f*cking around.

Is she a sociopath like your daughter? If so, I’d be very concerned. Maybe you should be proactive and ask the owners to not let him outside for so long at times when people are typically sleeping.

You know your sister and what she’s capable of.
If you are concerned and feel like she could follow through on harming the dog then the best course of action would be to contact her neighbor and tell them to be cautious

Well @LilyoftheValley and @Wave I just had a conversation with her and it seems she was letting off steam out of frustration. I’m relieved but I think there’s a small part of her that would go there if I would go for it. Sorry to feel that way. It’s just that she’s gathered neighborhood signatures and sent a legal complaint to the DA to have charges brought upon the neighbor, that’s after constant complaints to city animal control and the sheriff to no avail. Her next step is a lawyer, but doesn’t know what good it will do.

Wow. I’m glad she’s taking action. Maybe the dog will get a better life as a result

I hope so. It seems sometimes dog owners forget that dogs live for their owners and need their love, affection and attention to be happy and thrive.

I’m glad your sister decided on the legal route.

But just so you know,

It takes a ■■■■ ton of chocolate to kill a dog.

My dog is 8lbs and ate 1/2lb of dark chocolate once.

After a vet visit, that I’m not sure she needed, she was fine.

I’m so glad your dog was fine. I’m also glad that it takes a lot because for some reason it slipped my mind that dogs weren’t supposed to have it and I gave the puppy a bite of my mint chip the other day. Then I was like oh crap! I looked it up and Lord Google said a bite wouldn’t do any harm but try to avoid.
