i starting eating basically one meal a day when i was 13. i wouldnt eat for like 20-22hrs then eat a bunch up to a certain amount of calories. but im starting to think its not good for me. i found an article yesterday that said having an 8 hr eating window doubles heart risks. and i been doing like a 2 hr, maybe 4 hr max window for so long. and i think it got me in a bad habit of eating the worst kinds of food. cause i would just not eat for a long time. then eat all my calories in junk food in short time. and fasting made it easier to get away with that. so im changing it. instead of pigging out on junk food once a day im gonna eat 3 small meals a day and eat healtheir food and stop with the fast food. hopefully it will be good for me. ill still be restricting calories. cause i do think that is good for health but no more fasting.
Did 23 years work at all? How is your BMI after 23 years of it?
Maybe try to have a balanced meal
Protein fats and carbs with carbs in the lowest ratio.
Food is so delicious, I could never fast like that.
Also don’t force yourself to eat too soon as your stomach needs to stretch. And your bodies insulin response needs to adapt.
You will feel better eating healthy foods!
my bmi is normal. 5’4" 133 pounds
It worked then!
My bmi hovers around 25.5 but i have to starve myself everyday to achieve that.
1100-1300 calories just to maintain and i am a bloke.
my garmin watch estimates my calorie burn around 1850-1950 cals lately. i lose fast eating about 1150 cals. so i just wanna lose about 8-10 more pounds. then i will eat maintance calories.
It is a constant and difficult battle with these meds!
I just don’t buy anything that is too delicious and unhealthy, so can’t go wrong that way.
yeah i quit the meds again. but some of them do make it really hard. and make me crave food. i think the IF for so long stopped me from feeling physically hungry tho. i have to go about 22-24 hrs without eating for my stomach to feel hungry. but the cravings from meds make it hard not to eat. and they made me crave junk food.
If medicated szs are slim then that usually indicates the will power of a warrior!
The hunger pangs are much worse on meds and the general public are not aware of it.
Good luck with the quitting of meds though.
i managed to maintain weight on seroquel and risperdal. but zyprexa and clozapine were so ■■■■■■■ hard. i gained 60 pounds in 6 months on clozapine. got up to 170. those two are nearly impossible not to gain on.
luckily i haven’t been on olanzipine, but they have increased my risperidone and i am much hungrier now.
Thats great. Whatever works ay. Ive been intermittent fasting. Except i dont eat junk. Only veggies and meat and fruit pretty much. Ive lost 16kgs (35lbs i think?) pretty quickly. Plus exercise too though. Not planning on doing it for years. Just to help get to a healthy weight and then slowly go back to maybe 2 or 3 meals a day. And if i want, introduce a treat or something fun to eat occasionally. But ive complately beat my junk and sugar cravings now so i dunno. The main fun part of junk food is wanting it, not the eating. I usually feel worse during and after eating junk physcially and mentally.
23 years is nuts haha. You really stuck to it. After that, im sure you could do any kind of eating style you wanted to.
this is so true. i always regret it after eating junk food
I think what you are doing seems reasonable!
I can’t ever have breakfast due to the fact that I can’t eat in the morning because of thyroid pill not being able to have food within I think an hour or two of taking it. So I just skip breakfast. Otherwise I’d do like you are going to do.
Yeah fully! I wasnt sure if many others felt like that. And im not talking about like guilt or anything. Its like actual brain fog and physical sluggishness.
yeah i feel short of breath after i eat a bunch of junk food and no energy and tired and my heart beats fast. its really uncomfortable
i feel better already eating today. i have a lot more energy. and got stuff done today.
Oh wow! That’s great! Glad to hear! I feel the same when I eat healthy and small portions. Good work for fueling yourself nicely! @irrelevant
