Intermittent fasting

The reason I’m doing it is because my doctor prescribed it to me as a way to both lose weight and deal with my insulin resistance. It works so well for weight loss as I lose on average 1/2 a lb per day. But it is so difficult…anyone else tried it? I’m doing eat for 8 hours fast for 16 every day.

It’s weird bc the first day I did it it was so easy and I was barely hungry at all. Then I guess after that my food stores got used up because I have just been horrifically hungry since then. I literally wake up with awful cramping hunger pains. Eventually these pass and I’m ok for a while, then after a couple hours I feel very ill, get a headache, etc. This just doesn’t FEEL healthy to me :confused: during my eating windows I am eating two large, very balanced meals.

I wish I could just prevent the sick feeling.

In jail I effectively fasted during the evening due to how disgusting the dinner meals were. I would recommend fasting earlier in the day to avoid going to bed hungry though. I know what you mean, being hungry can give you a stomach or head ache. I hope you can find a way to get around it.

I lost 50 pounds in jail. If I had the willpower I’d consider doing it myself… but I’m addicted to the flavor of fatty food :neutral_face:

I did it for a few months, stopped and my weight increased again. So I restarted it doing for only 12hours a day because I need to get used to it first. During I was doing it in the past for 16hours a day I was okay, a little bit hungry but one problem was i got awake during sleeping so as David Asprey said, I ate one teaspoon of honey before sleep and it got better. I think there’s some side effects in the first time and I hope you don’t get too harsh on yourself and the schedule. 12hours a day is still effective ! I wish you luck

I did it two days and caved in.

I will try again in the future wen I have more confidence for it (lower weight)

Yea i fast every afternoon. Only water allowed. Also i avoid all types of sugar and dairy. It works for me.

intermittent fasting is a way of life for me. I’ve gone from the extreme of one big meal a day, to now eating 2 meals a day in 6 hours and fasting 18 hours. I just have a slow metabolism and only get hungry a couple times a day. in fact sometimes I have to force myself to eat 3 times when im lifting weights and not intermittent fasting.

I’ve gone from 165 pounds to 152 pounds recently intermittent fasting.

It works great for me, I still have plenty of energy, have regular bm’s, save money on groceries.

usually I skip breakfast and have a couple cups of coffee in the morning, and eat lunch and then dinner a few hours later. I don’t get hungry til at least noon.
