I'm now legally blind

I know that sounds like a bad thing but it means that my insurance will pay for eye surgeries and that will mean I will be able to see and the doctor said I might not have to wear lenses for distance vision anymore. I got glasses in the second grade when they realized I couldn’t see. I’ve never seen very well and in the early seventies I had five eye surgeries but they didn’t have the technology they have today. The doctor said it would be a hard transition between surgeries because my eyes won’t work together. I said they never have. I have always been able to look separately with each eye. He said oh yah true, you’ll do fine.

I’m excited to not have to wear glasses and be able to pick out some cute sunglasses for the first time ever.

What will be the outcome of the surgeries? Will you be able to see again? How bad is it?

I’m so glad you get to have surgeries!!!

I was legally blind and had surgery.

I still need glasses but it’s a pretty weak prescription

I’m very happy for you

After my surgery I saw things I hadn’t seen in years. I was so happy I kept crying,

One thing I remember being amazing was being able to see the veins or lines on leaves. Before surgery, leaves were blurry and looked like green coins to me.

Now I see all the details.

It’s so amazing being able to see
