Im not that smart, going to go to school anyways

well i’ve decided on horticulture and turfgrass management. i will most likely go to school in north carolina or i may commute locally to cincinnati and back each day.

people used to tell me i was smart, but im not, just average, with certain strengths and weaknesses. i could never be a doctor or engineer or something, but i think i can handle horticulture and turf.

so now i just have to go back to work and save up for tuition, i’d like to be enrolled before im 40. or better yet finished with school before 40. it will only be a 2 year program, much like trade school.

You can do it!
I haven’t seen anything that indicates you’re not smart.
I mean, you never capitalise or use much commas, but that may as well be a lazy habit you’ve developed, like how I almost never punctuate.

yeah my internet grammar isn’t as formal.

Wishing you all kinds of luck and success here! Massive respect for all with SZ who throw their hat in the ring whether they succeed or not.

Im sure your smart. I think a lot of academic stuff is based on study habits and style of study.

Ive just been reading this book my dad recommended called ‘‘a mind for numbers’’. Its about how to study. It really applies to any subject. Just how the mind deals with information and how to get the learned knowledge into your longterm memory.

I started on a journey a few years ago on working my way toward going to school for software development, id like to go into cyber security.

but I was just horrible at math. like I was 29 and I was at barely a grade 5 level for math. Just never learned it due to my middle school/high school situations.

So I worked on uprooting my entire math learning skills with great difficulty. Ive worked my way up mastering skills up to pre-calculus, and just been working through that now. Now its become a fun challenge.

Had lots of setbacks due to mental health but Ive kept working on that too. Its like learning math at the same time helped me improve my mental health because i need my mental health to be good in order to study.

What I’m saying is if you really want to do it then you can do it.

I used to own a property maintenance company, not landscape but exterior building cleaning, but I sold it in 2018.

cheers
