But seriously. Well, one way of looking at it is that you’re all on the same side. No one will probably want to attack or bother anyone else. So that should ease the pressure a little bit. It’s a friendly audience.
Another way of looking at it is that the focus won’t be on you. So that should relax you a little bit too. But Berru is right. Be friendly and ask questions. Remember, people love to talk about themselves. If you ask the right question it might set off a half hour dialogue and you won’t have to say another word. Just dress nice and occasionally smile.
If worse comes to worse you can do what I do and find a sympathetic person who you can just hang around them the whole time instead of mingling.
