If I were a boxer, my name would be Gaseous Clay

Omg. Doc got me to go back on Ozempic after a short break. It’s been several weeks and it seems like it gets worse the longer you stay on it.

Did not seem as bad the first couple weeks. It’s almost like it builds up in your system, week after week.

I went to sleep about 10:30pm and Woke up for good around 1:15am. In that time I must of awakened 4 or 5 times with stomach issues and had to get out of bed and walk around for 15 seconds to get relief of gas.

I totally ate around 4:30pm last night. I didnt have anything else besides one cookie between then and bed because I was having stomach issues.

it’s now been almost 10 hours since i ate and my stomach is still making noises and I’m very burpy and such.

To me, it almost seems like I should be on it a week and off it a week to prevent it from building up. IDK.

It does help with blood sugar, but holey moley, is it worth it? IDK.

I saw yesterday that there was a study saying that these products can help prevent cancer. Not just because of the weight loss, but inherently, as well.

Anybody buying this crap, or is it just hype? Remember, a glass of wine used to prevent inflamation or whatever, and was good for you…

I mean , seriously. I dont know what else to do but take it when she suggests I should.

It helps with blood sugar and nothing else is being increased sufficiently enough to keep up with blood sugar needs. I dont want to freaking go blind. I don’t want to lose a toe. But I really dont want to spend all night gassy and ill either.

Is there no middle ground here?

No, I just do what my doctor tells me most of the time. I plan on telling her that its gotten worse again when I see her again. I think my next appt is on the 20 something of this month.

Wouldnt that be counteracting exactly what Ozempic does. Ozempic slows down digestion and those would speed up digestion, no?

It would seem a bit like eating a bunch of dry rice to lesson diarhea symptoms and then taking a laxative…I dont know.

Ok? I didn’t know that about ozempic.

Best is to take it with your doc.

Thank you for the suggestions, though.

Yes, ozempic slows down digestion to help regulate blood sugar.

It’s kind of a win/lose or lose/win situation.

If I take it, my blood sugar will be better but I will be sick and gassy.

If I don’t take it my blood sugar will be worse but I wont be sick and gassy.

I don’t know if there is a win/win scenario.

I’m mostly just complaining because it has been bad tonight.

I dont know. Maybe the solution is a lower dose and increase in other meds.

Or getting off it altogether and increasing other meds.

If I increase insulin, though. THis probably means weight gain and a continued cycle of worsening diabetes.

It’s frustrating.

I hear you. I myself am almost always battling constipation and a gassy stomach.

It doesn’t sound fun taking drugs that has those side effects.

You mention walking. Perhaps if you take a small stroll before you go to bed, maybe that will relieve it?

Yes, that is a good idea. It may become essential that I try to work some of it off before sleep.

I’m not sure if it would completely fix the issue because I would think any food in the stomach would continue producing gas as long as it sits there, but its worth a shot.

Schizophrenia and diabetes is a bad combination for a lot of reasons, IMO. But one of the worst reasons is that schizophrenia tends to lessen or take away your enjoyment of many things. Then you get diabetes and it tries to steal away one of the joys you may still have in life…eating tasty food.

I’m also on a healthy diet. As soon as I put something tasty in my mouth I gain weight, thanks to olanzapine. I can’t eat much.

The question is if you can start eating food that doesn’t produce gas? I don’t if there are any? But if you Google you might find a diet that works for you?

Thanks. YEah, I eat carrots and tomatoes a lot as filler. Not many carbs and I dont think they produce much gas. But I often cave and eat supper with my parents.

We had stuffed bell peppers in a sauce last night. IDK.

IMO you really ought to try Mounjaro
Similar to Ozempic but side effects might not be as bad for you

Maybe its worth a try. I don’t know, @Wave . It would be nice to find a win/win scenario.
