If I ignore the voices will they go away

Do you guys think if i try every thing in my power to ignore the voices they will just go away and move on to the next sorry ■■■■■■■?

I had a parapsycoligist say that they had some one that heard voices and they ignored it and they went away

Yeah that’s usually how mine work. If I ignore them for awhile, a large chunk of time will pass like twenty minutes and I’ll realize I haven’t heard them at all. It’s kind of like letting your subconscious fall asleep by not engaging it.

They get mad and attack my body if I ignore them

Classical music help me forget the voices, but the slightest hint of anxiety or an awkward conversation - and they are always back. They never really piss off - unless im asleep and dreaming.

But i recognise them now (most of the time) they all have thier own accent - so its slightly easier to ignore them, especially when im just sat in the flat anyway and theres no-one physically here.

They do catch me out in public tho - cos my natural reaction is to think is someone actually saying it.

I have better luck confronting them with the question, why are you here. They are like a person I fell for and let ruin my life many years ago. So, I am trying to overcome him. Sometimes the voice turns out to be my misinterpretation of a noise my body was making like a gurgle in my throat. My mind then realizes it wasn’t active enough.

for a forgotten behavior of your own? I did something once that I couldn’t believe I was that mean enough to do. I punished myself for a long time about it - unknowingly and knowingly - until I realized that the punishment only furthered unhappiness and was counterproductive.
