Is it possible to ignore voices

I personally think that the voices if they are not my own mind are demons, even though taking 40mg a day of abilify silences them. Before I was on Meds and diagnosed the voices told me so many lies and were so hateful for the most part. I feel like they must have been more than my imagination because of two incidents.

The first incident was I saw a shadow figure in the shape of a man move very slowly across a parking lot I was sitting in during the night. The voices kept telling me to watch it closely and I was terrified of it. Then I saw the figure pull its fists up high and strike a car with its fists. Less than a second later the figure vanished and the car alarm of that specific car started blaring. Then a police officer came over to check it out. There were no other people in the parking lot at the time.

The other thing that I think about often was that the voices told me constantly for a couple of months that someone in the family would die soon. I didn’t tell anyone about it because the voices had told me to mostly stop talking to people. Then my uncle who wasn’t even 60 years old I think died of a heart attack suddenly and out of the blue.

Even though Meds silence the voices for me I still think they are spirits or angels or demons.

Yes it’s possible, you should,
distract
divert
destroy.
That is,
Distract yourself from the voices by disengaging from them simply by acknowledging their presence, and like something you really don’t care for, or against, you
Divert your focus on something else more interesting, such as,
Hey look over there- something shiny draws your attention to it. Possibly a diamond earring someone lost?
A mercury dime? A bright silver button off of a ritzy jacket?
This is how you
Destroy
the voices confidence in capturing your attention, and if you look behind you, your voices will be crawling slowly towards you begging you to look at them and just pay a little attention to them…please!
Nope.
Oh look at the sparkly shiny over there on the sidewalk- right next to that tiny silver ball on a gold chain!
So sorry voices,
So sad, I’m glad your mad,
No time for you.
Goodbye.

I believe it is possible to ignore them, to some extent.
I used to not be able to, but once I realised they were just figments of my imagination, that they can’t hurt me, and that I’m in control, I was able to ignore them.

Because they are just that. Figments of your imagination, and they can’t do anything to you if you don’t let them.

But sometimes it’s hard to resist.

Try to enjoy your physical and mental activities like watching interesting movies or play you favorite video games or enjoy a conversation. After the activities you’ll realize the presence and loudness of the voices lowered or gone at that moment.

Instead of diverting their attention, try to divert yours and see how it works on you.
