For anyone with IBS, what helps, and what doesn’t?

Let me know.

:point_down:t2:

I’m taking Manuka honey daily atm.

It has been my experience that IBS can be food allergies. I had IBS until I removed gluten from my diet.

However, for you it could be a different food. Eggs, dairy, gluten, sugar substitutes, you could try an elimination diet for a few weeks and pay attention to your body when you put a particular food back in.

I think milk is the main issue for me. I take lactase pills, but it’s probably still affecting me negatively.

Yeah, it is the lactose in dairy. That is a major source of stomach trouble.

Try taking all dairy out of your diet for 2 weeks. It can take a long time for the body to get all an allergen cleared out. Then after 2 weeks add milk back in and see how you feel.

Also, not all dairy has lactose. Read the back of labels carefully when you buy food. If the cheese says 0 carbs then it might not bother your stomach. Milk is the worst offender. It has 12 carbs per serving. Those carbs are lactose.

The Low FODMAP diet helps me.

I also had to eliminate gluten and dairy from my diet in addition to eating a low FODMAP diet
