i sleep soundly thanks to abilify but it is a disturbed sleep almost nightly.
i would love to sleep with a happier satisfied and at peace mindset but i cannot.

Same here. Altho i don’t miss the 12 hours or so i was sleeping on Zyprexa, now that I’m off of it (since Dec 24) I’m only sleeping 6 hours and it’s very restless sleep with a lot of tossing and turning and my mind not wanting to shut off. I’m so used to taking strong APs that made me sleep a lot, I’m not sure how to let myself relax for good natural sleep.
Which Ap are you currently on?
yes, this is the dilemma i face. i either sleep way too much/too deeply on an AP, or, off meds i sleep too little and unsoundly. i can’t figure this out. also, i have a strong inclination against getting dependent on a sleep aide.
I sleep for 12 hours but I don’t know if it’s because of my schizophrenia or medication. But I wish I slept less. I shouldn’t complain though…
I also have vivid dreams and at least 3 a night. I swear I’m living different lives.
sleeping for 12 hours is most likely being caused by your AP
i face a whole lot of stigma prejudice and other problems in my life that are quite hurtful to me and designed by the ones who do it to be h urtful.
i believe all this causes my mind to be very upset even during sleep.

Hey, @Speedy, I’m on Cobenfy, for about the last month and a half.
I had severe insomnia around May of 2023. I don’t know what caused it, but I started taking 2.5 mgs of melatonin and 325mg chamomile supplement at bedtime. It really helped me. I told my Drs and they didn’t say much about it. Melatonin is available here otc. I still take them along with zyprexa and I’ve been sleeping good
Your so lucky you can start that drug. I want to be on it because olanzapine is the only drug that works for me but its causing so many problems
I JUST titrated off olanzapine…my pdoc said the anticholinergic burden of taking it with Cobenfy was too high, and i was complaining that it made me want to eat constantly…but i sure slept good on it. She’s going to add another AP to the Cobenfy this week, she said probably Latuda but we don’t know yet…we have to make sure it’s both not an anticholinergic and won’t likely cause QTc-prolongation like clozapine did. They are trying Cobenfy cuz I’ve been on everything and they’re willing to try something new, but it’s an expensive med.
