I was bad this morning

I took 20 mg zyprexa so I can sleep today. I’m prescribed 2.5 mg. I took it on top of about six other medications including another antipsychotic. I felt like I woke up and something was missing and I didn’t know what to do. I don’t want akathesia today. I should have showered and shaved, eaten, and practiced guitar. I haven’t gotten sleepy yet and may not till nighttime.

That is bad.

You really shouldn’t take more medication than prescribed.

Looks like symptoms of overdose are standard.

Depressed breathing, low blood pressure, blurred vision, etc…

You should watch out for that.

you are KILLING your liver…don’t do that.

hope you feel better but not a good idea to take so much meds at one time

make sure you look out for overdose symptoms

maybe even call someone to call and check up on you make sure your ok when meds kick in

How many extra meds did you take besides the increased dose of olanzapine?

ive done it but its not a good idea. im in the mental health system now and its pretty serious so i dont.

I used to take 20 mg of zyprexa as prescribed so you didn’t overdose, but you should never take more than prescribed by doctor. You could get into real trouble with your doctor.

I think he said that he took other extra meds but I’m not sure

I’m going to self report to my pdoc because I was able to prevent the akathesia by sedating myself with the zyprexa. Besides taking that I took my morning meds.

20mg of olanzapine (Zyprexa) is the maximum dose according to the manufacturer but for what it’s worth I was on 40mg/day for about 17 years

Reporting what you did is the right thing to do. It was a mistake but you’ve got to own up to it. I’m proud of you that you will do that. If you are having symptoms that are intolerable, tell the doctor so they can do something about it. This will help you so you aren’t in a position of desperation and then doing something harmful.
