What negative symptoms do you have? Anhedonia, apathy, avolition, etc?

It gave me more energy but i wasnt more motivated. I had to be very purposeful when i took it or id just excessively watch porn lmao and my johnson was like a limp spaghetti noodle until it wore off

Avolition, lack motivation are my mains. I used to have flat affect but it went away for some reason after a couple years

Mine is so bad I am always in bed. On mucuna pruriens i went biking and jogging outside for 2hrs then drove to my friend’s place. It was a miracle for me considering that I always stay in bed. But then later that night I started hearing voices calling my name, I was also aggressive with my parents and mean to my friends. I also felt increased anxiety. Anyways idk how Vraylar will be, hope it helps a bit.

I think a couple big components of yours is 1. The risperidone, and 2. Your weight.

Both are compounding whatever negative symptoms your dealing with

I def think you should try vraylar.

I am stuck with it for now as its been the best med for my positive symptoms. I hate positive symptoms much more than negative and cognitive symptoms.

Yeah but if yourr pdoc offers the vraylar dont pass that opportunity up. Take the risk and switch

I think he will first reduce the risperidone and add Vraylar before completely switching. If I do good then I will only be on Vraylar. Thats what he did with Rexulti. Though I doubt that Vraylar alone will be as effective for positive symptoms as Risperidone.

Maybe you can do low dose risperidone like 1mg and also vraylar

ive tried both before sz onset first adderall when they thought i had adhd as a kid and then ritalin a few months before my full blown psychosis they basically just made me sleepy and nauseous. thats pretty much all i remember. another stimulant phentermine made me throw up and shaky and paranoid before sz onset

L-Dopa is probably a dead end combined with most if not all AP’s. It basically increases dopamine which is one of the main things AP’s are trying to block. I tried it briefly and remember becoming unbalanced.

I’m having luck with very small doses of tryptophan though to raise serotonin. I take 125mg tryptophan daily which helps with motivation and reduces ocd symptoms a lot. If I take more than 125mg I seem to get headache symptoms in prefrontal cortex. Guess I am sensitive.

I tried 5htp but it made me feel hypersexual and manic.

I bought that recently and am planning to try it. I’m just afraid of headache symptoms or weird pains in my head which happens when I take more than 125mg tryptophan. But I guess there’s only one way to find out. Tryptophan and 5-htp are related, but it’s not exactly the same thing. Hoping for some luck.

The main receptor that ap’s block is d2. L-dopa is used to overload the primary or secondary (can’t remember) pathway in the part of the brain that controls movement which paradoxically improves movement disorders in Parkinson’s patients.

You’d probably have better luck looking at different dopamine receptors and correlating results with there affinities rather then blasting your brain with dopamine.

Though if you have Parkinson’s by all means it will give you a temporary fix for that.

I’d be more worried about the excessive pruning if I were you.

Ketamine when administered CORRECTLY has been shown to bring about neurogenesis, and also serves to reduce apathy in patients without a history of psychosis; Though it should also be
noted that as a byproduct it produces a dissociative state which could be problematic depending on how you handle it.

Final note: nobody is going to give you ketamine, as the study is only being performed on people with no history of psychosis as it was deemed too risky to give it to someone otherwise.

Perhaps petitioning for a double blind controlled study would be of benefit, again I must stress double blind as ketamine carries with it an illicit history.

Yea thats why I said stimulants, Adderall Ritalin etc are better and more effective. But they worsen psychosis for most ppl so I am stuck with trying different APs until I find one that causes least negative symptoms for me.

Another thing is that my Drs won’t prescribe me Ritalin or Adderall.
