I bought a snowball mic and I want to record some singing.
I have a drum set too.
With those two tools what else do I need to record edit and mix songs

If you have a Macintosh computer, Garageband is a fairly user friendly program to use to record basic tracks of vocals, drums, etc.
Then there’s ProTools which is like the industry standard, but for the beginner it can be very intimidating and hard to use.
I use windows 10 and Linux
What programs do those have for music editing
Hmmm. I’m kinda stumped for what Windows users would use.
I know there’s a two-track recorder out there, that should still be available for download.
And I think that’s a windows download.
I think the program, FruityLoops is also Windows based. FL is used more for hip-hop/R&B type stuff, but I think you can do other forms of music on it.
Youll want a mic stand for yourself. I use cakewalk sonar but audacity is a free program.
Professional music studios are actually pretty reasonably priced. In my hometown they were about $65 per hour seven years ago. So, they would be around $100 an hour today. And a good music studio does a much better job at mixing, editing and production than you can get yourself with a home job using an inexperienced, amateur engineer.
I use Reaper … Its pretty complicated though
I use audacity. Easy powerful and free.
Audacity is user friendly, and it’s free.
I will use Audacity, since it’s so well liked, free, and works on Linux.
