I want this Electric motorbike

I have been thinking about getting a motorbike again, this time it is a better model and can do up to 60mph

here is a youtube review of the bike

Man, that would be a great little day tripper unit for me. Huh.

I’m still thinking about safety though, i’m not sure if a quieter bike would be better or worse safety wise

Definitely much worse. I’ve read insurance industry studies to this effect. Loud Harleys (and their owners) are irritating AF, but at least you hear them coming.

If they could develop batteries that could store as much energy as the gas tank of a car we could have as many electric vehicles as we want. Deceased Senator John McCain had the idea of offering a 300 million dollar prize to anyone who could develop such a battery. I don’t think the idea took hold.

I’m getting mixed reports saying that the noise goes out the back of the bike so they are saying it doesnt make much difference on certain websites, but idk, its like mixed reports, they are trying to sell these Electric bikes and that could be a bone of contention. Its hard to see how an electric bike could be safer when it makes less noise.

Motorcycles are dangerous on the highway.
If I had one I wouldn’t go far or fast with it. I know a guy who got his lungs perforated from a motorcycle accident.

They’re a lot of fun to ride, but they’re not safe anywhere. You just have to decide if the risk is worth it to you. In a car you have a crumple zone. On a bike you ARE the crumple zone.

I hear what you are saying and i know that Motorbikes are very dangerous but i keep thinking if i am careful then it should be ok, i wouldn’t be going on to the motorway though, i’d be using it for going to my clubhouse and to my mums or Sisters, maybe to the park, i know i can use my car to do this but its the thrill of it i guess, it just excites me.
My biggest worry apart from other cars is potholes for some reason i keep thinking i could be knocked off by a pothole.

Hey Crimby, i think there are batteries like that out there, some cars can do up to 2-300miles on one charge, i think a high end electric motorbike can do about 250miles, it might not be as much as a full tank of petrol or diesel but its close and charging them can be a long process too.

the bike i’m looking at is the cheapest but its still good value for money, it was started by a crowdfunder and has a range of about 50 miles which is enough to get me about on a normal day.

Oh, I’d be interested in riding a bike again one day, but you’d never catch me out on the highway after dark on one with the wildlife problem we have where I live. Don’t need to hit Bambi at speed. Hope you find a ride you like.

thanks man,

I saw an older man on an old motorbike recently and he was wearing a helmet but it looked old skool and he just had jeans and a t-shirt with trainers on, i was like ā€˜brave man’ he used a hand signal to indicate in front of me and i thought i wonder if i would need to do that, i think bikes have indicators sometimes but idk how noticable they would be. there is a lot to think about.

i’ve been thinking about the motorbike again, i need to try and work out all the costs and compare them, lots of number crunching lol, keep thinking people are going to talk about me bc i dont work and have a nice car and if i have a motorbike too they will think badly of me.

That’s none of their concern. It’s your business how you spend your $$$ and if you’re not breaking any laws, it’s all good. Enjoy yourself (or ā€œfill your bootsā€ as we’d say where I live).

Been watching bikes and beards on youtube haha, is funny as heck watching this guy throw the lamest bikes about, the ev Harley was a good un though

its still hard to see people spend money like that if they don’t work. There are so many people who struggle to pay bills they can barely afford the bus pass out my way.
I think if I did that without ā€˜working for my money’ my parents would disown me lol. there pretty old school work ethic though.

I’ve been saving for years now and i’m thinking ā€˜you only live once’ kind of attitude, do it while i still can,

Hey guys, I never slept last night but I’ve been thinking about the bike and watched a load of YouTube about motorbikes and doing more research,

I think I might get a petrol motorbike now, maybe a lexmoto with a good range, I think I’ll use it to learn on and get an electric motorbike later when they improve.

I’m trying to be very careful about my choices, I need to pick a good digital camera too BC I want to take some good shots as well.

I have an electric bicycle
I feel like it’s as dangerous as a motorbike
I get to 30mph down hills sometimes and feel amazing but I slow down almost as quick
I try to keep it 25 or lower
Picking up all sorts of safety tips along the way, like crossing a road across a cycle lane (stop)
I’m a bad driver too.
But I now know part of the reason
I have this thing in my head that goes, gogogogogo

I need to stop that instinct completely and have my first instinct
Stopstopstopstop stop
