Talk to your dr about your heart skipping beats. But honestly, the effect it’s having on you is good proof you need to stay away from nicotine products

I used to have a heart that skipped beats. It was due to stress.

Maybe you need to destress. Do some boxed breathing. Listen to music and lie on your bed.

I think it is stress. A combination of stress and nicotine. When i go off my medicine it gets worse. It was skipping every 15 seconds before so i went to the ER and they said it was premature atrial contractions and they told me to stop using nicotine and to meditate  food, stress, and nicotine seem to make it worse

19 days is really good.

You are more important than cigarettes.

Don’t give in to those buggers!

I think quitting smoking will lower your stress level in the long term and help your heart.

I quit 5 years ago. So, it’s possible.

It doesn’t skip beats anymore (I think). But I sometimes get anxious when my heart rate is high because of asthma and due to the fact that I got unwell once during long distance running.

I was a total addict. Smoked for almost a decade 20 cigarettes a day. From first thing in the morning. Till last thing before going to bed.

I know that even very addicted people can succeed in quitting from one day to the next.

That’s great. You’ll save a lot of money and be healthier. The people who live where I live are mostly smokers, and it takes a large part of their income.

Wow @columbus, that is still a lot of nicotine to be taking in. If you use the gum, you’re not supposed to smoke cigarettes at the same time. At least that’s my understanding of it. Good luck on quitting. You sound like you’re trying, and that’s the most important step - a desire to stop. Good luck!
