I’ve spent the last 25 years in contacts, now it’s back to glasses

Today is my first day back to glasses.

Anyone else made the transition from contacts to glasses? How did it go? Do you miss the contacts?

I don’t need contacts/glasses but when I do need something I’m going for glasses. I don’t know how people cope with contacts.

When I was in my 20s I wore contacts but I caught a virus and it caused an astigmatism so I had to go back to glasses. It was weird to go back after being in contacts for so long. But now I’m used to it and wouldn’t want contacts. The only time I ever with I had contacts is so I could wear goggles for swimming and still be able to swim. But you can get prescription goggles, if I went swimming more often that’s probably what I would do.

You look very handsome in your glasses, by the way.

You look like Clark Kent in these glasses.

I’ve worn glasses for much of my life. I wanted contacts but my eyes are bad to the point where I would need something called a torque lens plus a regular lens just to work. Hope you like em.

I’ve needed reading glasses for years, but only recently have also needed distance glasses. I got my first pair of bifocals last year. I even have bifocal safety glasses at work – I selected the nerdiest safely glasses I could find – the frames are light blue and black.

I use contact lenses. I don’t like to use glasses because my eyelashes are very long. So they touch the glasses and the glasses get dirty.

I’ve worn both glasses (since I was 14) and contacts but I prefer glasses because they are easier to remove and put on. My husband prefers me in contacts though so I have to go get an eye test one of these days and get new glasses and contacts. My present set of specs are 8 years old and quite worn out now. Looking forward to a new pair!

I used to wear contacts from age 11-25. At 25 I couldn’t afford contacts anymore, so I switched to glasses. I miss contacts, especially when I had the babies and they would grab my glasses off my face fifteen times an hour. But my eyes just don’t tolerate them anymore. I can go maybe six hours tops before they start making me blink and itch.

I wore glasses and even a patch for a lazy eye when I was young. My vision cleared, and I got glasses at 16 or 17. I wore contacts for years. Now, I wear glasses. I cant afford contacts, and glasses are easy peasy.
