I see a lot of people complaining about their lack of motivation and how it’s getting them down. I suffer from the same lack of motivation, but abilify 10mg makes me not mind it. (so far)
It seems to act a little bit like an antidepressant for me.

I’m on Abilify 30 mg per day. Still no motivation to do things. Guess it’s different for everyone.

No, I said I have little motivation too, but it helps me not to get depressed about it for some reason.
Abilify is supposed to be activating at lower doses and sedating at higher doses.

I’m on a high dose of Lexapro but I don’t suffer too much from low motivation, just a little bit.
I’m glad the Abilify is saving you from getting down about it.

Abilify has excellent Antidepressant properties.
I frequently get depressed, but when I was on Abilify I rarely became depressed.

When I was just on 15mg of Abilify, I felt less depressed.

It does have antidepressant properties. My pdoc has kept me on this for the very reason because I can’t take antidepressants.

It’s definitely different for each individual I learned the hard way. I still may have some tweaking to do with meds. Might go try seroquel or rexulti next
Abilify was way too sedating for me at 10mgs. After some trail and error I’ve ended up on zyprexa but interested in newer meds. Or any meds that help with cognitive and negative symptoms

I was on Abilify 15mg, and it was overstimulating me. At 10 mg, I’m still demotivated. I’m being taken off of it and Zoloft to switch to Geodon and Pristiq because of genetic testing for medications that fit me best.

Be warned Seroquel is listed as causing moderate weight gain. I personally felt like it was significant. I am on Rexulti in the Morning and seroquel at night and between the two I have gained 50lbs. I can’t tell which one is the culprit, maybe a combination of the two.
I’m on avilify now. I can relate to the first post. There is still a lack of motivation but I don’t feel depressed anymore. I’ve been on it for about two weeks now and I think it’s starting to kick in. Haven’t had much symptoms for the past few days.

I have little motivation when on olanzapine. It seems that I’m bearing a bag full of rocks. When I was just on 15mg of aripiprazole, I felt incredible.
I’ve been on Abilify 10mg for a month now. Definitely feeling better, it might be numbness tho. Still have crying jags every few days. Have gotten a bit more motivation lately. I’ve got a pdoc appt today. I’m eager to see if he wants to increase to 15 or stay at 10. I guess I’m willing to try a higher dose.
