Overall I have noticed over the past several days now I have had pretty much no voices, or feeling like I’m being commanded to do anything. Only symptom I’ve had pop up sometimes is thinking I’m being sent messages with songs. But overall I’ve felt more “here.”
I am only on 1 mg, and 2 mg is therapeutic dose. However I am very sensitive to medication and have had lower doses of things work for me before.
Well I thought I was starting it too but turns out my doctor prescribed me another 2 weeks of the 1 mg. Probably because he knows my sensitivity and wants to titrate as slow as possible so I don’t get side effects freak and drop it, which as much as I’d like to say I wouldn’t do, I tend to get irrational at those times.
Currently I am not really having any noticeable side effects. Maybe a bit of extra sleepiness but not to the same extent I had on vraylar.
I see him next Monday so I can talk about it then.
Rexulti is similar to abilify. 10mg is the therapeutic dose for that. But research shows that 5mg is superior to placebo for about the first month. Then it’s a placebo.
So maybe you’re getting a result from rexulti 1mg but it might be short lived.
Ah yes Abilify helped with my paranoia. Nothing else though then again I could barely tolerate 10 mg so maybe it would’ve helped more if I’d been able to go up higher. I don’t think rexulti & Abilify have the same dosing though. Not sure.
This so far is a way better experience than Abilify. Even on the tiniest dose of Abilify it was like 2.5 mg or something, I had awful akathisia. It took weeks to go away and by then my dose would be raised and it would be worse. By 5 mg it was wrecking my attention span. 10 mg was torturous for the short time period I was on it, had all of the aforementioned and twitching.
You’re right though this very could be one of those temporary periods in my life I have where my symptoms improve and seem to go away. Coincidental. I’m still going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Sorry, I wasn’t suggesting you try abilify just that a sub therapeutic dose does work for about a month. I’m just wondering if it’s the same with rexulti.
I.e. a sub therapeutic dose of rexulti might produce results for about a month.
Hey I might switch to Rexulti next month. It’s good to hear it’s working for you, I know you haven’t had to much luck with meds in the past but I hope this one works out for you.
Also a couple hours ago I was attacked again so whoop di do. Swear it’s like they wait until I say “oh I think I’m better now” and then they’re like whoops can’t let that hope set in
