I haven’t been hospitalized in over a year being on rexulti, but I recently switched to abilify and I’m starting to hear voices again. Besides the voices, I feel so much better on abilify and I don’t want to switch and I don’t want to increase the dose any more (I’m on 30mg, my psychiatrist increased the dose when I told him I started hearing voices again). Then again, I don’t want to end up in the hospital yet again or worse. I guess what I’m asking is does anyone have any advice?
30mg is the max dose of abilify so it can’t be increased any more. So if it doesn’t work out you might have to consider going back on rexulti.
What was it that prompted you to switch from rexulti to abilify? I’m on abilify and am interested in rexulti.
Have you tried therapy, they help to minimize the control voices have over you.
I felt that rexulti kind of dulled me. I didn’t have much motivation or interest in things I used to like. I also gained quite a bit of weight on it. I can’t stand the thought of going back on it . Having said that, on rexulti, I was in a pretty good mood and clear headed.
You need to tell them everything, they can only help what they know
I agree with @John_Raven please keep your whole treatment team updated on your progress. If you are getting breakthrough symptoms your doc may prescribe a prn as a stop gap. I read some folks on here have that.
