I think that I’m going to ask for Benzos

I’ve been easily stressed out lately.
More than usual.
I get easily frazzled.
Lots of changes and this means more stress!

I weaned off of Klonopin a couple of years back, I was taking it everyday and it was no longer working.

But I may ask my pdoc to get back on them on a prn basis - only on an as needed basis.

I need something to calm myself down during stressful times.

Good luck to you on that. I know a lot of pdocs don’t like them. :lion::lion::lion:

Yeah my pdoc is not a big fan but she knows that I don’t have an addictive personality.

I know she would prescribe them to me.

I wouldn’t be taking them everyday, only as a prn.

I weaned myself off them too but asked my doc for a few to get me over christmas. They didn’t mind giving me a few.

Best of luck with whatever decision you make.

If you want a non-benzo option, I take Vistaril (hydroxyzine), and it helps me a lot.

Oh ok, I’ll look into it.
Thanks @ZombiePupper.

Have you tried l theanine? I don’t think it could replace a benzo, but it definitely helps me.

No I haven’t but I’d rather not take a supplement.
And not sure my doctor would ok it.
But thanks @LED

What do benzos do? I don’t think I’ve ever needed them. Is ativan a benzo? Because I got those in the hospital to calm me down

Yes, Ativan is a benzo and so is Klonopin.
They are used to treat anxiety and agitation.

I was shot up with Ativan in the Hospital also @bluerose.

Benzos are such an amazing class of drugs. It’s just a shame about the quick tolerance and addiction. I’m also gonna ask my pdoc to have it regularly as prn.

benzos calm people down but you quickly start needing a higher dose and then get addicted to some of them. I got a mandatory dose of ativan the last time I got excited in the hospital. It doesn’t last very long though.
