According to what I read on the social security website, the rules have changed over the years. It used to be that if you were on SSDI, you could work and make like so much a month and still keep your SSDI. Now, the rules are that if you are working at all, even if you are not turning a profit, you can and will lose your SSDI benefits. I better quit while I am ahead and scrap this Avon business because all I’ve made so far in this business is $42.00 and it’s not worth losing my SSDI over, if I haven’t lost it already.

The rules are still the same. The cap is $840. You do have to report it, though. You won’t lose your benefits under that amount. Check out page 6: https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10095.pdf

Thank you, @Happy_H. That eases my mind just a bit. I will tell social security about my business this morning.

@SkinnyMe, It looks like SSI rules may be different than SSDI rules. If you are on SSI, read page 16.

Thanks. I’m on SSDI.
Then you should be fine, Avon Lady!
