I came off my old medication for a few reasons however I can see a difference in cleaning, enjoyment, showering and general tidying up.
It’s not extreme. I’m still tidy and functioning in all the above just definatly not as motivated or doing the above as much as when I was on qutiapine.
If i were to compare these qutiapine worked better for this. It didn’t work better for my posative symptoms or sleep though.
Yeah it’s often a compromise. The meds are far from perfect and you’d hope they dial them in a bit within the next 10 years or so! I’ve tried three and keep coming back to zyprexa…it’s not too bad on the positives but I feel more normal on it…less negatives. We are all so different and there’s no other way of knowing than just trying these things! You do learn some home truths pretty quickly!
This is like me going back to risperdal. Which is the first one they ever put me one and the one that worked better then abilify (by far) and qutiapine. Because they say paliperidone is a refinement of risperdal.
Quitiapine was very good for me for along time. I just had a couple of episodes on it and dosages has to be increased. I didn’t like all the pills and it seemed to loose it’s effect.
Hey Qwerty, you might try one of the ones that are partial dopamine agonists (they increase dopamine when needed and decrease it when needed). Abilify, rexulti and vraylar are the three I know of like this. For some people, they help a bit with the stuff you mentioned. However, there could be a totally different med that is right for you in that manner.
I’ve tried abilify in the past. But it was a very unsuccessful experience. I’ve not really heard of the others. (Don’t know what type of medications they are ) and don’t want to switch. But I’m happy to suppliment anything to help with negative symptoms.
