I take my meds but

I take my meds. Every day. I even set alarms so I don’t forget. But I still believe things others say aren’t true and I see things others don’t see. Am I really schizophrenic? Wouldn’t the meds take this all away. I’ve tried every atypical antipsychotic except olanzapine with the same results. I’ve tried a few older antipsychotics too. I’m starting to doubt I have sz, because it doesn’t go away with meds. I currently take 160mg of geodon. I was taking 100mg of seroquel with the 160mg of geodon. I also take celexa, and buspirone. To no avail. Do I really have sz? What’s up?

Maybe that’s just not the med for you. None of the atypicals worked particularly well for me, but haldol helps. Even still it doesn’t take away everything.

Somewhere between 10 and 30% of people with sz have treatment resistant sz.

Most of those respond to clozapine.

A still significant percentage don’t respond to clozapine.

Maybe you just have treatment resistant sz.

Edit: this really would depend on how much you responded to the meds though. You could also be a partial responder.

I’ve tried every atypical antipsychotic except olanzapine, and a few old school antipsychotics. @LED

Yeah, I read that when you said it the first time. I didn’t respond to atypicals either. Haldol is the only med I’ve tried that helps.

I hope I’m not treatment resistant. With meds I stopped believing I worked for the government, but nothing else I believe or see. If I really have sz, it should go away. I guess you’re right. I could have treatment resistant schizophrenia.

I have treatment resistant sza, I have tried many different APs. The best so far is haldol injection but I’m having trouble again I think it’s the latuda stop working. I’ve been on latuda for about 5 years.

@cbbrown are you on the highest dose?

Of the latuda yes but the doctor is reluctant to raise the haldol because I already have symptoms of TD
