@anon4362788, what’s the nasal decongestant called?
i feel for you mike, i really do but you really need to make an appointment with your doc or even gp, explain to him/her your troubles but mate, stopping meds like that is very dangerous, at least if you want to do something follow your dr advice, good luck
It’s just generic. The package says Nasal Decongestant. It sells for about .88 cent at our WalMart.
Didn’t something bad happen the last time you stopped your meds. I don’t think you are being rational right now.
I haven’t stopped my meds before.
stopping all meds cold turkey is very likely to cause withdrawals and relapse. Why is it so urgent? couldnt you gradually cut down? That said I understand the they can ■■■■ you up.
Mike1,
You’re asking for trouble. Please, do it for all of us if you won’t do it for you. Why? I care. Look how many replies you’ve gotten. People care about you.
Call your docs or go to the ER. Please?
No, it takes UP TO 6 months for symptoms to return. You quit your meds and you could go batty next week. Psychosis is too dangerous to risk over some nasal congestion. Why don’t you drink more water and go see a medical doctor instead of playing psychiatrist? And for the love of God, please get back on your meds. Actually, no, make an emergency appointment with your nurse practitioner and tell them what’s going on.
I’ve done it and regretted it. Then starting to go back on meds isn’t easy either. Get help before things start to go bad.
When I’ve stopped my meds in the past I told nobody that would tell anyone. There must be a reason you told us. You want us to reason with you to go back on your meds !! My guess!! Please take care of yourself that’s a lot of meds to go off so quickly . Please call your doc that’s very dangerous
I think withdrawl would kill me in agony
A very unwise move on your part @anon54988740.
Get back on your meds ASAP!
The reckless decision you’ve made could end up killing you!
If you are having unwanted side effects then bring it up with your doctors but you don’t stop taking life saving meds cold turkey!
Take it from someone who has stopped meds without doctors instructions that this will not end well.
If you get side effects, switch. Don’t go cold turkey…
As this statement says, I hit 6 months now and my hallucinations are back.
My treatment team didn’t like to be surprised the way they were when I went off meds. That is, they suddenly found me psychotic, and they had not known that I went off meds a month earlier. A more mature move on my part would have been to inform them when I went off meds.

You’re playing with fire @anon54988740. Thinking you know better than your psychiatrist who has spent a lifetime of hard study to become qualified to serve your health needs is absurd. You need your meds. Take them, please. Go see your psychiatrist as soon as possible. Please don’t become another statistic.
I’ve seen this end in disaster too many times to count. Everybody thinks they will be the exception to the rule and that they will be the lucky one who won’t relapse.
I don’t need to tell you the risks, everybody already knows them.
Stopping so many medications at once is so risky that it’s hard to gouge how your system is going to react. But that’s the allure of stopping meds, it just feels so good initially that it sucks you in to thinking the risk is worth it. It ain’t.
Yes this is very risky. If I stop my meds I get ill within 3 days and usually need hospital. I’ve played with my meds before with bad results. If you want to come off meds you need to do it with your pdoc’s supervision. Be careful!!
@anon54988740 are you going back on them until you see a doctor?
I havent got much to add. Just go back on them and see some doctor or nurse.
I quit meds cold turkey several times and i nearly ended up dead, i caused my family huge trouble and fear, i destroyed all sorts of good things in my life and it just all wasnt worth it.
Also, i was much more successful actually STAYING “off” (>> on a very low dose of meds) when i took it extremely slow and careful.
As a guy who is anti-meds said to me: quitting meds cold turkey is good for nothing but an ambulance ride to the ward.
