Please know I say this from a place of kindness… You may never feel ready enough so you have to start before that feeling comes. It seems impossibly hard, I know. But for most people, there is no switch in your brain that just flips one day and suddenly you’re making better eating choices and exercising. You have to start before you “feel ready”. It’s a tough pill to swallow, I understand. And I’m not trying to be a jerk, I swear. I only say this because I’ve been waiting almost 20 years for that feeling to come and it hasn’t.
I’m also on the beginning of my weight loss journey (I lost 6lbs. Woohoo!) and still coming to terms with the fact that some days I don’t feel ready. But even though I don’t feel ready, I make one small change a day. I still don’t want to give up the sugary drinks and trash food completely so I won’t. But I will have them in moderation.
Take some of what you want but also take some of what you need ya know? Today I had a grilled chicken salad with a slice of bread instead of a fried chicken sandwich and my stomach is still happy. The smallest changes add up if you keep at it my friend. I urge you to start making them now.
