I need to get a life

My psychosis has pretty much subsided and now all I do is sit around all day. I’m still not sure that I’m ready to work but I’m too well to be laying around the house.
Then I remind myself of how terrifying my psychotic breaks were and I get scared and decide to stay in anyway. I would like to go t the gym but the meds are slowing me down.
This sucks, life sucks. What a shame this had to happen to me

Going to the gym is a big deal to me. Could you try a smaller goal? Like going outside for a walk? Or trying to pick up an old hobby?

Yea I’m going outside to take a walk. The gym was never a big deal before but it’s been getting more difficult to go now.

I use to be on risperidone, it was making me feel totally out of energy. I was sleeping all day night.

Go to your doctor and ask him/her for another medicine. It might help

I think you’re doing great by making the first step and going for a walk. I wouldn’t get caught up on what would or could happen. A job is a big deal. You may be able to do it just fine without another psychotic break. I hope you can muster up more willpower and do more even if it is just a walk. You’re doing great!!

@MeghillaGorilla1 try doing something.
You can do meaningful things without getting out of the house.
You can develop hobbies, e.g reading, crosswords, drawing, solving puzzles of various sorts.
Try to build your life gradually.

Thanks @Erez_Shmerling but I want to be a rock hard body builder that resembles a Greek god.
Crossword puzzles aren’t going to get me there

@MeghillaGorilla1 I don’t like bodybuilders.
But you are free to go that way.
Remember though that for health endurance more important than muscle strength,
also muscle strength not to be judged from appearance.
I think that it is more practical to aim for better fitness simply
( meaning endurance and muscle strength).
Also I observe that beyond average muscle strength doesn’t confer cognitive benefits from a study
I have seen.
Also you should be careful, it is better for your muscle mass to be consonant with your endurance.

I wonder if it would be in your means to get a decent dumbbell set with a fold up bench. It’s amazing what a person can do with dumbbells. And you could do this at home.
