I’ve hit the age, at least for myself, I’ve hit a wall when it comes to new music. So, I’ve resolved to start listening to the “New Music” playlist that Apple Music curates and refreshes for me every Friday. I hope I can get turned on to artists that I’ve never heard of. It’s just what keeps me going.
Name 5 of your favorite bands and I’ll post some obscure bands to check out.
Well, @Schizoidman, that’s kind of a challenge. I’m already into a lot of obscure artists, at least as far as where I live. But, my 5 favourite artists are:
- Led Zeppelin
- Pink Floyd/Radiohead tie
- U2
- Coldplay
- Wilco
My son likes Cage the Elephant. Not bad
Yeah, I’ve got them in my library, but I think I haven’t gotten past the 1st album.
Here’s a couple that have some zep vibes. I’ll have to think on some of the other ones.
If you dig them those are from the album Greatest Hits Volume 5. might be on spotify.
I have pretty much everything the Tea Party, but maybe I’ll check out The Want.
Listening to Cocteau Twins right now.
I like Radiohead, Floyd and the Cocteau’s too. I recently found Porcupine Tree which is similar vein. Albums Lightbulb Sun, In Absentia, Fear of a Blank Planet. The last is not on streaming. I find it a challenge at this age also to find fresh music I like.
Guess what, @Gollum? Fear of a Blank Planet is now on Spotify!
Too good for people to not hear👍
My daughter says Mumford and sons. I like them. I’m a sucker for acoustic guitar
I haven’t been listening to them a lot in recent years, but I especially like the first 2 albums.
Arma - Shikaar (if you like hip hop/rap/grime)
He’s basically a criminal turned musician as is so common in the world of showbiz lol.
