I need help!

How can I take better care for the hair on my head.
It is not as soft and silky as I’d like. :sob: :sob: :sob:

So how do I make it nicer?

Ladies, how do you get your hair in good condition.

I prefer more natural products BTW. Or more natural methods.

Though I am considering using a ceramic hair straightener?

Maybe oil ? Theres plenty of such products.

Sometimes I don’t bother with conditioner and I use gentle shampoo maybe baby shampoo

But doesn’t that make hair greasy.

I have heard good things about argan oil though…have you?

Living proof products are really good as is R+co. Not so much tips but brands worth trying.

Does anyone here use argan oil in their hair?

I bought this, but I haven’t tried it yet. Hopefully it’s as good as it’s reviews. I got it on Amazon.

Egg whites. Beer, too. There are diy instructions you can find on the web. But whatever you do, don’t use Apple cider vinegar. Long term, your hair will break off in dramatic ways from what I’ve seen.

Ive tried an oil it was ok.
I have thick hair mostly just schampoo it.

Soak it in mayonnaise or hair conditioner then rinse it out. I wash my hair daily, but when it was long it was soft even though I still washed it daily.

Doesn’t it dry out hair usually if washed every day?

Oh I guess conditioning is different

It can unless you condition it too.
The more you wash, the more oils your scalp produces, so do be careful. Also running your hand/fingers through your hair can stimulate the oil in the scalp and make it greasy.

Whether my hair is short or long I have to wash it daily lol.

Some shampoos contain different ingredients. Idk what sulfides do or don’t do.

Herbal essences shampoo and conditioner is really good. And it smells so nice as well.

Yea herbal essence is the best smell for hair shampoo. Agreed.

But it’s too synthetic for my liking.

Someone even told me just wash my hair with water.

Idk about that.

Apparently the hair will produce its own oil that way

So it won’t look dry.

I could try

Yeah but then won’t it get too greasy? Usually conditioner after shampoo leaves my hair so soft and silky.

I know Tresemmes hair conditioner is super thick/dense, so maybe lather that on in the bath/shower, wait 10 mins and then rinse?

Some people in Asia also use coconut oil on long hair.

I guess I’ll experiment and see.

Thanks for the conditioner idea…

I used to use all natural, no chemical products like Dr Bronners castile soap and others that were safe according to EWG skin database. But the products made my hair flat and ugly. So I switched to Pantene

Mae, have you considered that it is your medication causing your hair issues? My hair totally changed structure on Abilify. I had hair falling out, it was really dry and breaking off whereas previously my curly hair was lovely.

I stopped taking antipsychotics for a year and during that time my hair improved considerably, almost back to normal but not quite,

I am now on Rexulti and the same thing is happening, dry hair with thinning and breakage. I have tried every product known to man and have come to the conclusion that I just have to live with it as a side effect of the medication.

I just use a good conditioner and no longer waste money on expensive products. I use Chi Aloe Vera conditioner.

I tried Faith in nature natural products
Made my hair dry
But the more expensive natural brands might be better.

Dr bronners isn’t a chemical product. Pantene is.

I use Dr bronners almost religiously for nearly everything. Their baby soap is what I use to wash my dogs. Just would never think to use it on my own hair.

Shampoos and conditioners with coconut oil work best for me.

That’s exactly what I was saying. I used to use dr bronners and other chemical free shampoos but they ruined my hair so I switched to Pantene because it’s better for my hair actually
