I need help choosing a pet

I don’t find their poop to be smelly at all. The cage is cleaned every few days.

love birds as much as I love dogs. That’s saying a lot. Before we got this cockatiel I had no idea how smart and sassy birds are. Also they are so loving and affectionate.

Thats interesting thanks for sharing.

I’m thinking of Maccaws or cockatiels

I did hear they can be a bit noisy, my walls are pretty thick floor has thick carpet.

I heard this but my place is rabbit proofed, no wires where they will be.

dyou have only one and is it very noisy and does it talk?

She sings various songs. She also makes kissing noises. Dances/bobs her head up and down. She doesn’t speak and is not likely to as she is female.

She can get very noisy. Especially with the kids around. When the kids get loud and roudy so does she. However I will give her her dues she does not make a sound at night when we are in bed.

Yes I only have the one. They bond with you more when they are alone. If you have them together with other cockatiels they will bond with them likely.

All pets are smelly to some extent. If that is a concern to you, I would not advise getting a pet. Even if you are very proactive about cleaning up after a pet, there will be smells. And the smaller your living space, the more concentrated the smell will likely be.

My neighbour keeps a rabbit & she has 2 guinea pigs as well, the rabbit is very clean & not smelly at all, guinea pigs are not that smelly either, if i can get some special absorbent tray litter then it could mask a lot of the smells i think. I know more about rabbits & Guinea pigs than i do about parrots & other small birds.

My sister kept a rabbit in a hutch outside when she was young. It lived for a long time too.

Would you consider a white rat? They make excellent pets.

no, not a rat although my neighbour kept a few of them & they only live a few years i think, also i’m not keen on keeping rabbits in a small hutch outdoors, my Mums neighbour did this and i thought it was cruel and easily neglected, the home is warmer and bigger and i want company.

its still really hard to choose between a pair of birds and a pair of rabbits

I would get a turtle if I were you.

I agree with those that said to get a cat. They’re easy to take care of and you’ll end up really loving him or her.

I think cats are a bit boring,
my Sisters cat is nice but in general I’m not keen on getting a cat.

Get a snake, if it doesn’t kill you it can be a very rewarding pet.

Cocatiels are extremely noisy and demands a lot of attention. They easy to tame. Sita on your shoulder all the time. Macows I didn’t had some

Birds are as bad as cats. Rabbits are worse than cats, really. Scoop the box several times a day and use a good sprinkle in deodorizer and you’re fine.

I have 3 pythons, and I can have 3 because they only eat once a fortnight, and brumate during autumn/winter!

I’ve had them since 2008, 2010 and 2016!

Do your research if your going to care for one though!

Pets are smelly and messy overall

If you want a sterile pet then I suggest you get a pet rock!
