I always make a pot of rice whenever I want to eat two thousand of something.
I love rice. And I love making it. My mom taught me how to make a good pot of rice when I was little. I think about her every time I make it🥰
i cant cook for beans, but i can make a damn good pot of rice. also steak. those are two things i pride myself on being able to make right. Some people burn rice or make it too soggy etc. my rice is always perfect ![]()
I can make a pot of rice but most of the time it comes out too soggy (moist and starchy)
It’s all about timing, you have to cover it and cook it just the right amount of time and then take it off the burner and let it sit 5 minutes, still covered. Then fluff it with a fork.

My rice is both soggy and hard at the same time
I cup rice to two cups water. Bring to a boil, cover, put on low simmer and cook for 16 minutes. After time is up, take off burner, still covered, and let sit for 5 minutes. Then uncover and fluff with fork.
That should do the trick.
I use a rice steamer…I like short-grain brown rice, it’s super sticky like sushi rice.
