I’m worried about my fur baby

He’s getting older (13) and the last few weeks I’ve noticed he’s a lot calmer than usual. He’s still eating and drinking fine. I’m not sure if it’s his age or something else. Unfit, since I have several upcoming surgeries I can’t afford to take him to the vet right now.

Now I’m wondering what your fur baby looks like.

He’s a 10 pound tan colored Shih Tsu

Dogs can lighten up the space. I don’t know if there is any other animal that is that good.

Spiders are the opposite.

They sure do! I love my little baby.

Small dogs usually get older. So that’s in favor…

Yeah. He should have a few years left. But he might be slowing down now a bit due to his age.

My last dog died when I was abroad. I got a high fever because of it and needed injections.

I feel emotional pain also physically.

May he live long and prosper.

I’m sorry that happened to you @anon17326926 .

well I hope your little dog lives and lives…we have an elderly diabetic dog that is cheating death…we love our dogs so much…it shows you have a big heart that you love your dog so much.

My dog is also thirteen and has had some behavioral changes because of her age.

I think as long as he’s eating, drinking and not in distress, you’re okay.

Not trying to project on you,

But when I get stressed about money,

Sometimes I imagine something is wrong with the dogs.

Just because I know it’d be a struggle to take them to the vet.

Not saying it’s that, but could be something similar.

I’m sure your baby is fine.

But it is difficult with aging animals.

My pug is 5. Even she has settled more with age (I know she isn’t old yet) but I have noticed this over the years.

Give your doggie lots of cuddles. It’s so sad we only get them for a short amount of time.

You wouldn’t believe how spoiled my dog is lol! Every morning I pet him and talk to him for a full hour. He sits in my lap throughout the day. He loves it! I also carry him when I’m going places around the house. For instance, when I do laundry I put him up on my bed while I’m folding clothes on the bed. Seriously. I don’t think he could get it much better haha!

My dog is a large breed, GSD, and he’s 8 next month. That’s mature age for a large breed. He’s definitely become very calm and reserved at his age.

Yeah. We went outside to check his stool - no diarrhea etc. and he loved his walk in the park today. I’m thinking it’s just that he’s getting older.

Do you have to exercise your German Shepard and also train him a lot? I’ve heard since they’re a working breed they have to be kept busy physically and mentally

He got a lot of exercise when younger. He ran around acres of field and forest. He began slowing down when we moved, and today prefers lying around. He’s weird in that he won’t play with toys. He hides them and freaks out if you uncover them.

That’s so interesting! I wonder what he’s thinking. Wouldn’t it be great to know their thoughts on things?!

It would. We “talk” for him a lot and have silly "conversations ".
