It’d be better than the supported living they want to put me in
I live in a shared house, and I have a helper that I talk to regulary.
If you live alone you can also get a helper that comes to visit you regulary, so that you don’t go off the rails psychotic without anyone knowing. But it is my oppinion that young adults should start their adult life early.
Yeah, everybody wants to experience living alone when they are younger. But it´s essential to have the means to do so. If you don´t have the economic possibility, or you don´t treat yourself well to be autonomous (medication etc.), it´s of no use to think about it.
Maybe you can try to enter in a university in the (nearby) future, then you are supposed to live alone lol.
What are your interests for uni?
I need to finish high school first
Okay then, finish highschool and plan to live alone after! Every young person wants to live alone, but they need to wait until they finish their highschool studies.
Are you aware that not everybody goes to university? You seem to have her life planned out for her. People can do what they want once they reach adulthood.
Are you aware that teens go to uni just because of having a justification to leave their homes early? I did so when i was a teen. And it isn´t bad, it´s some sort of motivation.
She lives in a fosterhome and not with her parents. Life is not some template or story that you need to match. For example in Germany you have the incapacity to contract until you reach eight years of age or if you have a disruption in your thought due to a sickness. I don’t know what the law says in her case if she can already live alone or not at 17. Highschool doesn’t have anything to do with it.
It doesn’t sound like you have a choice.
You probably won’t be living alone and need to come to terms with that.
Why do you think that
You made it sound like it was a court order or something like that.
You said you didn’t have a choice and that it wasn’t fair.
They can’t force people who are 18 or older to live in supported living
Sure.

If they can’t force you, then what’s your point? You can do it if you get a job. But you’ll need to find the right treatment and actually take the meds you’re prescribed in order to successfully have and keep a job
Ok, but what are the alternatives if she wants to live alone? 1. to look for a job 2. to enter uni with some sort of scholarship.
In both cases she needs to be able to live alone, but that´s other story-
Do you see any other way?
I know many people live alone without jobs
What is it with your intimidation?
Some months back you didn’t want her to have a lawyer.
Now you want her to have a court order that she has to submit to.
Psychiatry is not meant to classify you as r.etarded and disabled for life. The laws are meant to get you back on your feet as fast as possible, or in her case a good start.
Will the government pay for all your needs?
I’m just going by what she said.
And what are their incomes?
