I’m scared the pdoc might change my meds

Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m in a slow decline. My voices are getting louder, and I’m afraid if I tell my pdoc, she might change my meds since I’m already at max dosis.

But I also feel like I should tell her when I see her on tuesday.
It’s just that last time I had a med change, I wound up in the hospital for three weeks.
I’m kinda hoping 2019 will have less hospitalizations than 2018.

I especially feel like my prn seroquel isn’t working out. It works, but it makes me so tired. Both mentally and physically. It makes it impossible to do social things due to fatigue.

What should I do? What should I ask for?

I’m on 12mg Invega and 2x50mg seroquel daily.
Plus I can take up to 150mg seroquel as prn throughout the day.

Be 100% honest with them. It’s the only way they can help.

I am a veteran of seroquel. Strange as it sounds for me doses below 300mg were more sedating than doses above. I think somebody once told me why but I’ve forgot

Seroquel is a big sedator for sure though

Also may ask about the slow release version: seroquel xr. It made me less sedated

Honestly, a med change might be good for you. You’ve had a lot of increased symptoms and they seem to be getting worse instead of better. Why resign yourself to sticking with meds that aren’t ideal, when another combo might make you actually feel good?

I think you should be open and honest with your pdoc. If a med change is in order it might be for the best. Even if you do need to go to the hospital, look at it as an investment in your recovery. It is temporary and maybe you will come out better than before. Good luck.

I guess I’m scared of change. What if the new medicine makes me psychotic? What if the med change puts me in the hospital like last time? What if the new med turns out not to be as good as this one and the change was a waste? What if it’s even more sedating?

It’s always a risk. But what if it works better, with fewer side effects? What if it leads you to getting more control over your life? What if it makes you feel clear-headed?

That’s a good point.
I think I’ll bring it up with her when I see her tomorrow
