They shouldn’t be able to take your children unless they’re being abused. Kids are better off with their parents.

They will take them because I’m a single mother with schizophrenia.
Be the best mom you can be. Take your meds and don’t miss psych related appointments (therapy, med reviews, etc). That’s all you can do.
If you do all that, even if they take your kids while you’re ill, you’ll get them back once you’re stabilized

If you’re high-functioning and not abusive you will be fine. Your team knows you left an abusive ex for the safety of your kids. That means something. Also keep in mind my own doc knows I hear voices and still signs off on my bus license allowing me to transport passengers including other people’s kids. If you’re stable and functional, that’s what matters.

I have Schizophrenia…my wife is Bipolar…there was never any discussion by anybody about placing our children when they were young.
