That someone can just waltz in my house and take my kid away cos i have a diagnosis of schizophrenia
I’m sorry that happened to you @Qwerty . You ok?
Its not happened. But i feel it will.
you must be ill…nobody is going to do that…sorry you’re so upset.
No one can take your child away due to your diagnosis.
Yes they â– â– â– â– â– â– â– can becsuse they discriminate.
Has anyone made any comments about it? Have they indicated they would call child services?
I get it. I really do. I had a nasty neighbor call services on us 3 times in a row the summer we moved here. Found out from other neighbors that she has done it to everyone.
The worker was aware of my mental illness and even that I had a breakdown over the accusations and investigation that led to a week in the hospital.
Didn’t lose my kids. As long as you’re taking proper care of them it works out.
No nobodt has…i just feel the midwives are watching me and trying to find any excuse to call them. Also my brother and sister in law do things like that so they could report me.
Id loose it if someone took my child. I love him so much.
Sorry that happened to you @anon4362788
It is done and over. But I wanted to reassure you that they can know about our MI and not worry about it.
I’m diagnosed with SZ and I’m trusted to drive a school bus with other people’s kids on it. I’m also a volunteer in organizations like 4H. You can have this illness and still be a responsible, contributing member of society.
Oh, and a parent, too. Never had a problem with child services when raising my now adult daughter.
Yeah, that’s unreasonable
Ä° don t think they can take your childs from you just because you have sz unless you practice bad parenting and lack of care to your childs
The hospital called child services on me due to homicidal ideation. The worker came did an assessment and everything. My ex wife didnt lose her kids to that. Hopefully that helps ease your fears.
I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and they gave me other people’s kids to raise.
Discrimination does happen. But it is incredibly uncommon to have your kids taken away unless they are in active danger of permanent injury or death.
There’s a rap song by a rapper called logic called fade away. Your comment reminds me of the lyrics:
“Can’t let that social worker just snatch up my kid, gotta get my son back”.
Sorry but that’s what I thought when I read your comment.
