Yes I have people who support me who get paid but family and friends wise I have nobody. All the material things doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have family. I’ve been on my own since I was 9 and I’m not a strong person.
Count your blessings if your family is out of your hair.
That’s a problem you can fix. Try to make some friends.
I agree. It’s never too late to find your tribe.
I would offer advice mate. But ive none to give. I would give the usual spiel about joining a mental health day centre or taking up a hobby. But as i do none of those things, i would be a hypocrite.
Ive been on my own most of the time for years - but ive got used to it, and probably turned a bit selfish because of it.
Bob, you’re not alone.
Some people want to be alone. I personally think if that is what makes you happy then do what you want. I’ve noticed mental health professionals push being out in society as a sign to be healthy. I just feel if you are okay with being alone, then be alone. It seems however, people say they are alone, but not by choice. If you don’t want to be alone, then go out and find a way to get friends.
Yeah, they were always pushing me to go into town for a poxy coffee - so i got out the flat for 5 mins. Actually it wound me up. Im quite happy not seeing anyone for days, thank you. I go out when i feel able. They long since have given up.
That was a small side of my vulnerabilities. Time to brick them up again.
