I’ll see if my doctor screws up again

I get these medical examinations called Medicare Annual Wellness Visits where my doctor just goes over my general health and then used a specific code to bill it to my insurance and then I get a grocery gift card for completing it. When I had one last year I was supposed to get a $200 gift card within three months of completing the exam but my doctor repeatedly sent the wrong code and after a couple dozen phone calls to my insurance and a dozen PMs to the doctor i finally got my gift card 10 months after the visit.

It was a hassle that took a lot of time and effort to get straightened out and it was my stupid doctors fault. Well, I just had this years Medicare Annual Wellness Visit 20 minutes ago. Let’s see if my doctor bills it correctly the first time and I should get $150 gift card by the end of January.

It’s the biller for the dr who is doing it wrong.

I recommend proactively calling the office and asking to speak to the biller.

Explain the purpose of the visit and how it has to be billed.

No, my doctor gave the wrong codes. My insurance company and the doctor herself said so.

Ok. Wow. I can honestly say I’ve never worked in a drs office where the biller didn’t select the codes based on the written notes from the dr.

Like the dr says this was an urgent level 3 visit, and then the biller selects the code

I like that your dr was honest that they messed up.
