Doctor was a ripoff

I saw my primary care doctor and he billed Medicare $599.00. The lab billed $603.23. Ridiculous!

He charged $350.00 for an annual Medicare Wellness visit, then $196.00 for 30-39 minutes, and miscellaneous charges of less than $25.00 each.

Medicare denied the Wellness Visit and said I was on the hook for the $350.00. The doctor at the medical school only charged $219.00 for this.

Anyway, I’m not going back to this doctor again. It’s a ripoff.

Healthcare is expensive enough. Even when they don’t rip you off.

you must be seeing the charges because you are billed and owe?

I do not believe I ever see what the charges were, but I could be wrong.

I have United Healthcare for Medicare.

I recently had a home visit, and got a $50 card for it.
Yesterday I got all my supplements,
$130 worth, free on my healthcare debit card.

but anyway, that sucks that you gotta pay,
hopefully they get you on a payment plan for that.

Thanks @Daze. I was looking at the claim the doctor filed with Medicare trying to figure out how much I would owe him. I had to call Medicare to find out as it didn’t say on the claim.

I was also just wondering, don’t you have Medicaid too?

they tell me that it picks what Medicare doesn’t.

and I haven’t gotten a premium bill all thru Rona.

That’s total bullcrap. It’s a wellness visit, Medicare should pay for that.

No I don’t have Medicaid, just Medicare.

Thanks @Leaf. That’s how I feel.

I would call Medicare and get to the bottom of why they didn’t pay. Maybe the Drs. office billed it incorrectly.

Bloody hell your American health care is expensive. I go to the Dr here and it cost $40 approx. I buy my medication and it costs me $90 approx. Feel sorry for you. Must make life difficult.

Thanks @Sezbot241. I think everyone here knows how screwed up the healthcare is. I’m glad things are better where you are at.
