I keep on getting freaked out by burning smells

Fear of a fire is a pretty basic fear. These ■■■■■■■ phantom smells cause me so much alarm.

I can’t just ignore them in case they are real. Really lost here. Don’t know what to do

It seems to have no relation to my vaping status. Have smelled burning off and on vaping

It seems like you smell something burning pretty frequently.

Its probably your mind playing tricks on you.

But it could be coming from another apartment in the complex and you’re just very sensitive to the smell.

Are you sensitive to smells in general?

I only ask because I get phantom smells as well, but when I pop in a piece of nicotine gum it goes away for a few hours.

Yeah am pretty sure it is a trick of my mind. I don’t know how to respond to it. Right now I have to check every electric plug in the house

Get a smoke detector or a few smoke detectors. Then ignore the smells if the smoke detectors don’t go off. That’s what I’d do.

Yeah I got two smoke detectors. Your idea I think is the right course of action. I just have to learn to trust the technology

Do you have a smoke detector in your apartment? If so, that should help set your mind at ease.

I get stress headaches sometimes but I wouldn’t say full on migraines

Olfactory hallucinations could also be a sign of cardiac issues. Do you have a history of heart problems at all?

Wow I didn’t know that. There is history of cardiac problems in my immediate family - dad has cardiomyopathy

I’m no doctor but you may want to see a cardiologist to be safe. Best to rule it out
