I have started wearing a mask

It is the third wave of coronavirus infections here. It is worse than the second wave. I have started to wear a mask everywhere were I go. Coronavirus just does not seem to go away. In Estonia the situation is bad and in Brazil there are 3000 coronavirus deaths a day. I think that people should be vaccinated more, but vaccines are just not available for everyone. In my little town we have had 39 coronavirus infections during this pandemic. I wish that the situation becomes better globally.

We are going to have new lockdown restrictions. Going to a grocery store is allowed, but for example flea markets may not be allowed. This virus is just not going away. It is the worldwide problem. And now there are new mutations of this coronavirus.

Yeah. The vaccines are really important. I hope they get them out in higher numbers soon

I hope things get easier for you Mjseu. It sounds difficult.

Definitely keep wearing a mask, and follow other guidance. Like washing your hands regularly, trying not to touch your face, keeping distance in public, not meeting up with people unless its needed.

I hope your vaccine will come sooner or later. Just try and keep following guidance for now.

@mjseu Sorry to hear you’re experiencing a third wave. It’s a good idea to wear a face mask when you’re around other people, especially crowded indoor places like grocery stores.

The good news is that you can still exercise outside, such as walking and bicycling, in relative safety. You should always have a face mask with you just-in-case you need it, but you don’t have to wear it if you’re outside, away from other people.

They keep saying spring break and St. Patrick’s day get togethers are causing this.
Give me a break.
Wonder what Italy says.

I’ll second that. I’ve had some rabid maskers snap at me for not wearing my mask when I’m by myself or passing them with more than two meters between us. I’ve always got a couple of masks on me because that’s how it is now. I’m careful to mask up when around others.

Italy was one of the first countries to crash so badly that they literally had bodies piling up faster than they could be dealt with. That’s a nation that really understands how transmissible COVID is. Indoor gatherings where people share the same air are the highest risk for spreading the virus. Also? The old COVID took about fifteen minutes to transmit in a crowded room. You can pick up enough viral load to get sick in under a minute in the same situation now with the UK variant, which is fecking evil.

The faster we get jabs in arms, the better.

I always wear a mask when I’m indoors like grocery stores or the thrift shop. It’s pretty much mandatory in my city.

When I’m outside walking I just carry my mask in one hand so I’m ready to rock and roll when I get to my destination.

We have just had a random person getting covid out in the community after zero local cases. It’s early days but already another contact has a positive. I fear we too will soon be on another lockdown. I don’t mind wearing a mask when I’m out. Much rather that than the covid.
