I have my disability (PIP) assessment next year

It’s been 8 years since my last one. I got the highest amount for both Care and mobility without a face-to-face assessment so paper based. My community nurse will write me an excellent letter again. It is worrying though going through theses assessments but what is reassuring is that I’ve been on benefits 20 years and never had any trouble getting awarded benefits as I have a excellent care team and live in supported living. I know I’m fortunate. But I’m still worried a little bit.

Do you get worried with your assessments?

I find them to be stressful. I always have to go in person and the advising doc always asks a lot of questions.

I’m a bit protected by my diagnosis. Else I would probably already be kicked off of it.

Maybe I’ll lose my disability when I move to Spain to study. I don’t know if I’ll get approval. But life is too short to constantly act out of fear

Yep I get pretty worried about things

But I try my best to save the money for sick leave

Worked out well

I don’t need the money all at once, as I end up being able to work with blips in between the jobs

Really has sunk my career a few times

However up until now been able to pick myself back up and try again

The money is good because I can put it to one side for when I need it most

Before I got pip I could not stop working and that did me no good

I’d at times go straight back to work after weeks on the ward

This also complicates things, as I need to have a good med balance otherwise work becomes too much to cope with

I want to study Chiropractic in Madrid.

I have my admissions interview on the 22nd (which is also my birthday).

If I get accepted it’s very likely that I’ll move to Madrid in September.

I find them very stressful. I don’t get them very often but they really make me paranoid. I already struggle with bad thoughts about things like that. So nerve wracking.

I hope your assessment goes well @bobbilly

Not to frighten you but I also lived in supported accommodation however I had to go to court for my PIP. I have a history of epilepsy as well. Not just schizophrenia.

Im probably gonna be called in. Last time I applied for PIP I came out of hospital and so I got it. I don’t think I will get it this time.
