I saw a documentary about a serial killer in my country who killed two persons (serial killers are extremely rare here). During the documentary it was told he had a diagnosis, i checked it online: Apparently he had a schizotypal PD like me.
I checked it online and apparently the second most prevalent PD among people commiting murder is schizotypal and schizoid, only BPD and Antisocial Personality Disorder are more prevalent.
Tonight I could cry. My mother always told me I was “Ferdinand the Bull.” I have never been violent, on the contrary I always back off if there is a risk of a fight.
Right now i’m listening to the 60¨’ties band “The Byrds” who sing:
“And we’ll all go together
To pull wild Mountain Thyme
All across the purple heather
Will you go, lassie, go?”
I understand you. I had that same thought myself, but i don’t have a dx of schizotypal, my dad does. I think it’s easy for us too compare ourselves to people who put others through the worst imaginable pain, emotionally and physically, so that prevents us from looking deep inside ourselves and see the good.
How common is schizotypal pd among all murderers, though? Not just of those with a personality disorder, but all persons committing murder.
Also what percentage of people with schizotypal have been convicted of murder?
Because those are the numbers you would want to look at if you’re going to go on an “I suck” spiral. Like, I bet most murderers have brown hair, but no one is making parallels there.
