My feelings for the holiday season are very hot and cold. It marks the beginning of a sprint to the end of January for my fringe business. The heinous decor is a reminder of my lacking family life. I leave the light off during Halloween, thankfully both neighbors do too. They are not mobile enough to address a ton of trick or treaters. I just don’t want entire weekday evening disturbed. Parents just drop their children in my neighborhood by the carload and leave them. Then encourage them to go from stranger to stranger seeking food. I may be a joyless cat lady, but that’s also a horrible idea.
