We lost an in-law to suicide two weeks ago and my wife lost an old classmate to the same last month. It’s a touchy subject around our home right now, so apologies for overreacting.

It doesn’t work in real life, but I will start here

maybe a suicide prevention hotline number when you feel the need and you can get some good support numbers from your doctor,

Suicidal ideation is a common symptom of depression - unpleasant dark thoughts sometimes arise when I am depressed. My doctor said that because I cycle very quickly - allow the depression to come and go.
Usually I dont stay in a deep depressive state for too long - thats how quickly I cycle, so these morbid thoughts leave rather quickly - she told me to ride the ‘waves’.
If these suicidal thoughts become a constant thing for you - do get immediate help - its one thing to have fleeting morbid thoughts, its another thing if it becomes obsessive - impulsive or constant

I get mild suicidal ideas a lot, but they pass. Keep yourself busy so you don’t have time to think. Hope you feel better soon!
