aint this just great. it had to happen to me, the least snake loving person on the planet. i found a 12 to 16 inch snake of some kind today in my kitchen, it had climbed up on the shelf drawer and i briefly caught it in the shelf when i pulled the drawer out, but it slithered away when i was unable to get the drawer out to take it outside. now i have to sleep tonight knowing there is a live snake in my house somewhere in my kitchen, i can only hope it remembers how to get out. i assume it must be after βthe ghost that is the mouse.β
mom says get a cat, then she says nevermind, you wont clean the litter box. sheβs probably right.
I would be scared of the snake. I wouldnβt sleep at night. Look for it and get it outside.
Snakes never bothered me but I get the same way when I see Spiders. I hate those things, when I see one I have to grab like 5 tissues and kill it immediately then flush it down the toilet. If I grab some tissues and come back and itβs gone it creeps me out because I know its crawling around the room somewhere.
i should have just grabbed it by the tail when i had the chance, but i didnt want to touch it, and got it in the drawer, but then it managed to slither out of the drawer when i couldnβt get the drawer out, and now i donβt know where the hay it is.
Iβd get a dog instead of cat for snake killing personally.
I can take or leave British spiders. To my knowledge no native British spiders are able to bite humans. So I generally leave them be.
I was told spiders like dry houses so you should take them as a compliment.
If we had stuff like black widow or brown recluse I would be purging by fire
I found a decently long caterpillar in my room last night. I hate critters. Smashed that thing with some TP.
According to the show Little House on the Prairie, you can eat snakes. Gross man.
I like snakes, but I wouldnβt want one on the loose in my house; eek!
I recommend a quick Google search of wild snakes in your area / state. You might be able to find out if itβs a harmless visitor or a dangerous intruder.
If itβs dangerous, maybe thereβs an animal services in your area? They could catch it for you and release it far away from your home.
Thereβs got to be someone to call for this?
itβs only like 12 to 16 inches long, i know i have snakes on my property but this is the first one actually iβve seen in the house. mom says its a rat snake. we have few venomous species here in indiana, i think 2, copperheads and water moccasins. maybe the snake will get rid of the mice haha, nature is taking over my house haha.

it was dark greenish with brown spots.
It might help to find it by making a warm spot in the sun for it. If you have drapes, or really any window that refracts light during the day, keep it exposed. Snakes thermo-regulate and need heat. A warm spot is something it will possibly seek out.
Do you live in a trailer or cabin @Lifer?
How in the heck did a snake get in your kitchen?
Iβve had enough of these motherfocking snakes in my motherfocking kitchen!
yeah i live in a modified trailer, there are holes that the mice get in looking for food, then the snake followed the mice, i hate this damn place, want to move in with mom and dad who have a solid concrete foundation where nothing gets in. itβs also an old trailer.
