I found a practice community

It is a sangha (community of Buddhists) based on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, who I’m familiar with. The reason I’m going to visit this particular place, is because there is no teacher there, no “holder of wisdom” for me to bow down to. There is less formality there as well.

I find Buddhism to be perfect for me, because it is often called science of the mind. I love the charts/diagrams/lists, I think they’re brilliant, and I find many of them to be true in my experience.

These are some books that have helped me a lot, and that I recommend to anyone interested.

I like, but too strict for me. rather do the late drunkers Catholic Mass.

my therapist sings for Catholic parishes… she was a Catholic growing up but she avoids religion.

I’ve been to a Catholic Mass and all it was to me was standing up and sitting down on repeat. I do like the peace blessings aspect however.

What is wrong with you???

I don’t know.

Falling asleep or literally fainting?

Why would they ask you that, lol?

Religion… whatcha gonna do… (don’t close this thread mods)

no, fainting, literally, always.

What? You think we need to close this thread? okay.

The mods don’t allow religion-talk. that’s all I was saying.

I think there’s neuroscience backing buddhism. Look into the brain’s “default mode network” it is a network in the brain that becomes active when ur brain is idling. U might have heard before that from brain scans counter-intuitively the brain is more active when it is not engaged in tasks.

As for buddhism i can’t tell you my opinion, but i think that’s great you found a Sangha
