No takeaway delivery drivers, no taxi drivers, no restaurants. No barbers. Nobody! In England this isnt rude. Do you tip?
Yes but only change or maybe a buck. I’m stretching my money as it is.
no i don’t tip.
whats the point of 20% off then adding 20% tip
My sister worked as waitress for many years.
She barely made any money on her hourly wage but she managed to survive with tips because she was a good waitress and friendly and always smiling.
I tip waiters and waitresses but I think tipping has got out of hand in the U.S. I think mandatory tipping sucks. I like tipping because I got extra good service not because I have to.
Nowadays, it’s gotten ridiculous, waiters and waitresses don’t put out the extra effort it takes to be friendly anymore. When I go in a restaurant they bring me a menu and take my order and drop off my food, there’s no asking how I am or asking how my day is going or they barely smile. I see them for two seconds when they bring me a menu, about 7 seconds to take my order and I see them for 4 seconds when they drop my food off. Where’s the service? And I am expected to tip 20%.
I still tip though because they’re making low wages. They’re lucky my sister was a waitress and taught me to always tip. It used to cost $2.00 to have a pizza delivered, now it’s like $5.99. Ridiculous.
If they bring me food and are friendly i definitely do however attitude is everything I went to a diner and my brother and dad had a hamburger so did I and I had to wait over a hour too get my burger I was sooooo pissed there wasn’t a shot in hell I was tipping and there’s not a shot in hell I’m going back the burger was cold aswell
But most of the time I tip
I couldn’t do with the overly friendliness, asking me loads of questions. It’s fake., I’m happy with them juts taking my order and leaving me alone. I still don’t tip though. Never have.
Everywhere I go to buy food they say wanna round up your money for starving children. You’re telling me the CEO doesn’t take a cut of that money?
Super rude.
I’ve always been a generous tipper even if the service isn’t great.
Those people hardly make a living wage and need those tips.
I think not tipping is super rude.
And if you’re dumb enough to be a return customer somewhere you do not tip,
It’s a great way to get cold, possibly dropped on the ground food.
Good thing the UK pays people a mandatory wage so people don’t have to survive of tips by being underpaid.
Yeah I always tip generously
These workers need to make a living!
I do think it’s very rude not to tip
I agree with @Charles_Foster
Look into UK tipping culture. Your not even traveled so you don’t know what your talking about.
Whatever! I’m not wasting my time with you anymore!
You asked.

I tip 15-18% normally.
However, I always press “no tip” when they hand me a terminal that asks for it, specifically fast food places.
What exactly am I tipping for in that situation ?
I don’t know why you had to attack me?
Most of the time no. Specially if there is already a service charge included. Uk doesn’t generally have a tip culture.
For me it depends on the situation . Am I ordering carry out and picking up? Zero tip. Am I ordering in person on location at a fast food place? No tip.
Are we at a sit down restaurant? 15-25% based on service quality (20% is most common)
Every uber eats /doordash driver gets a 25% tip from me automatically because uber eats driver is a ■■■■job and they need that money. If I can’t afford to tip the driver I eat at home.
Although I am on a fixed income, I tend to “overtip” according to people who know my spending habits.
However, because I am also on a fixed income, I have to be careful where I spend my money:
Places that have you round up to the nearest dollar do not get my extra money. Looking at you, grocery store.
It’s better to directly tip an actual human instead— you know the money goes to them in full.
I have nothing to feel guilty about. I sleep sound at night, thank you.
Nope. But I had to stop eating out to do it. I’m okay with it.
