I don't see my pdoc or therapist in-person

I miss going in to the mental health clinic. It was one of my only responsibilities and source of socialization but it is still closed because of the pandemic. Is it the same where you are? I only get phone appointments.

I always see my pdoc in person but my GP likes to try to schedule me ā€œvirtualā€ visits, which I generally don’t like.

I don’t have a psychiatrist anymore.

I see my GP in person. When I had a pdoc last year it was by phone only.

I just got to go back to in person a couple months ago. I was doing video visits before that.

Both my pdoc’s and therapist’s offices are open, but masks are mandatory (which is fine with me).

I have phone visits with my pdoc and in person visits with my primary dr. I wish I could get all my psych treatment in person so I can have privacy, but it’s all in video conferences

My family doctor was ā€˜seeing’ me by phone but now he wants to see me in person.

I still see my psychiatrist and therapist virtually

I haven’t seen my gp, optometrist or pdoc in about 2 years, I saw my dentist last month, but that had been 2 years too, only spoken to them on the phone a few times.

They refill your meds without seeing you? Wow

Yeah, the only time I speak with my gp is after a blood test every 6 months, and the last time I spoke with my pdoc was about 4 months ago when i started clonazepam. When I need a refill I call the pharmacy, they send a prescription request to whatever doctor, they sign it and fax it back to the pharmacy and I have my refill. All without talking to any of them. My pdoc does my psych meds and my gp does my cholesterol and diabetes meds.

Wow! I have to see my drs every 2-3 months or I can’t get scripts

I used to get scripts when I visited the doctor but I’ve had schizophrenia for 17 years now and my doctors know I am med compliant so I think they trust me. I’m stable without symptoms and in real life I think I usually make a good impression when speaking with my doctors so they know I’m responsible and not some ā€œcrazyā€ patient that needs to be coddled.

Works for me! I hate making appointments and waiting in the doctors office.

I’m with the VA and I’m now seeing all my doctors in person. For a while there, I was talking to my pdoc by phone. I talk to my social worker by phone. My peer support person is half in person and half by phone. VA doesn’t make any sense. Masks are mandatory though.

You’re very lucky @Headspark

I am with the VA too. I see my shrink and my therapist though video conferencing or the telephone. The GP is still in person. I go to the dentist there too but they make you take a Covid test two days before you go.
