I opted for a vacation on my internet service, and then I had it reconnected. The jack I was using is out in the hall, but the chord to it got cut, so when they reconnected my internet they gave me a new jack. I realize my bill will be high for the reconnection, but they are also charging me for a land line residential connection which I did not order. It will cost me a good $40.00 a month or more. In my scale $40.00 a month is very painful. I’ve battled with this internet service before. They’re always overcharging me or charging me for something I didn’t order. I have half a mind to call the local news and tell them this internet service is cheating a disabled veteran. (I didn’t get my disability while in the army, so I don’t get a military disability pension, but I am disabled, and I am a veteran.) This is getting really tiring.
Staying on top of finances . . .
Change your ISP?
Here in Canada I am with Bell Fiber 1Gbps and I pay 60$CA/month. It was 55 before but they upped it by 5$.
I’m sorry. My internet people screwed me over too when we moved. They charged us to our old house for three months. After months of fighting, we eventually gave up. They are shady and look to cheat people any possible way.
If you can’t resolve an issue with your ISP over the phone or by email, I suggest writing a tweet on their Twitter feed.
The following is advice I found on the Internet:
[Five golden rules to complaining using Twitter Keep it specific. Find and use the firm’s @name - many have dedicated customer twitterfeeds which twitter will find once you start typing it. Keep it brief. Explain your problem in 140 characters. … Keep it factual. … Keep it going. … Keep it public.]
The Better Business Bureau got me a $50 rebate after AT&T gave me the runaround for 8 months. I was calling AT&T every few weeks and nobody there was helping me and they kept switching me over to multiple people and no one would give me a straight answer and they kept telling me to call back in a month and someone would help me but no one ever did for 8 months. I finally called the BBB and they got me my rebate in two weeks!
That’s what they do.
